Draft for review: This page is adapted for SMMT Data Intelligence from SMMT’s published website policies. It must be approved by SMMT’s legal or data-protection owner before any public launch.
Cookies are small files stored by a website in your browser. This page describes the intended cookie approach for SMMT Data Intelligence.
Cookies used in the current build
The current local WordPress build uses only cookies that are necessary for administration, authentication, security and user preferences. Anonymous catalogue browsing does not currently use advertising cookies, and no analytics service has been configured.
Strictly necessary cookies
WordPress may use test, login, security and interface-preference cookies when an authorised user signs in. These are needed to operate and protect the administration area and cannot normally be disabled within the service.
Future optional cookies
If analytics, personalisation, embedded media or marketing tools are introduced, this notice and the cookie inventory must be updated before launch. Where required, visitors must be given a clear consent choice before optional cookies are set.
Managing cookies
You can delete or block cookies using your browser settings, although blocking necessary cookies may prevent sign-in or other protected features from working. A cookie-preference control will be added if optional cookies are introduced.
Contact and authoritative policy
For cookie or privacy questions, email gdpr@smmt.co.uk. Read SMMT’s current Cookie Policy for the wider corporate position.
